A Walk in the Dark
Congratulations to the many Cubs who completed the challenging night hike on December 5th.
Altogether 18 boys walked with 5 adults over a 5 mile course. Our furthest point was supposed to be across the Stepping Stones however, with all the recent rain, the River Mole was very full and the Stepping Stones were deeply submerged!
Highlight of the walk was definitely the long stretch of footpath where someone had taken their herd of cows for a stroll. The charm of the animals was lost on us as we slipped and splashed through what we hoped was more mud than cow pat.
The "sleepover" went ok and as the leaders lay awake to the sound of heavy rain and noisy Cubs we gave thanks for the break in the weather which allowed us to make it there and back without getting wet.
